Liquid permeability measurements using oil or reservoir brines can be carried out using a simple setup of a continuous flow pump and a core holder.

Darcy’s law can be used to calculate liquid permeability

KL = qμL / AδP

The setup can also be used to perform:

  • Clay sensitivity studies.
  • Permeability to Oil at Swi
  • Permeability to Water at Sor
  • Amott Wettability

Based on a simple 10 ion analysis of the reservoir brine, ICS can reconstruct the brine in the lab.

Viscosity and density of the fluids are measured using calibrated viscometers and pycnometer. The measuring equipment (receiving tubes) are certified to Class A standards.
