Hot Solvent Sample Cleaning Soxhlets

Hot solvents boil in a round bottom flask. The clean solvent vapors rise and are condensed in the condenser. Warm solvent drips down in the sample chamber.

The samples are soaked in warm solvents till the chamber is full of solvent when it automatically drains down in the lower round bottom flask.

This ensures that the samples are soaked only in clean solvents at any point in time.

  • Borosilcate Glass, 3.5 liter Body Capacity, and 5 liter boiling flask
  • 150 mm diameter, 4 mm thick glass, flanged caps for ease of sample removal, for approx 20 1.5 inch dia and 3.5 inch long samples
  • Heating Mantle : Powder coated metal body, with 800 W individual heater
  • Concentric Double Condenser for greater cooling efficiency

Cool Solvent Sample Cleaning Soxhlets

Sensitive clays can be damaged if subjected to Hot Solvent cleaning and
drying in a conventional oven.

Such samples are required to be cleaned in Cool Cleaning Soxhlets and
subjected to drying in a Humidity Oven.

Difference in porosity measurements after drying with humidity oven and
then after drying with conventional oven will determine the porosity lost due to clay.

Vapour Extractor

Specially designed for heavy oils, the vapour extractor is an excellent equipment designed by ICS to provide gentle and quick cleaning of samples containing heavy oils.

The solvent boils at the bottom of the extractor and vapours of clean solvent pass through the sample causing dissolution of the heavy oil and thus cleaning the sample.

Sample Cleaning time is reduced by almost 70% thus reducing the turnaround time and costs for the end user
